Target Audience: Workers who are required to work at heights in construction, managers and supervisors.

Legislation: The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Regulation 851

Course Overview: This program is required for workers who operate lifting devices in environments that are not construction projects, and who do not require the full fall protection training program. STS Group trainers help to ensure that employee’s working on elevated working platforms receive the necessary knowledge, training and experience, can identify hazards and know what the legislative standards dictate.

Worker who have A valid Working at Heights for Construction or Fall protection do not require this training as part of their Boom or Scissor lift training.

Training Topics:

Part 1 (Theory Based)

  • Module 1: Introduction to Working at Heights
  • Module 2: Identification of Hazards: Recognition, Assessment, Controlling and Eliminating
  • Module 3: Personal Fall Protection Equipment
  • Module 4: The Anchor Point and Work Access Equipment and Platforms and Rescue Planning

Prerequisites: Elevated Work Platform (Scissor lift, Boom Lift)

Evaluation: In-Class Case Studies and Assignments, Written and Practical Assessment

Certification: Fall Protection Wallet card

Validity: 3 years
