Rebate Structure
How the Rebate Structure Works
The WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program rewards your safety efforts through a structured rebate system. Here’s how it works:
1. $1,000 Incentive to Start
Once your action plan is approved, you receive a $1,000 one-time incentive just for joining the program, subject to eligibility requirements.
2. Rebates Based on WSIB Premiums
Your rebate is calculated based on the previous year’s WSIB premiums and the number of topics you complete.
The more topics you complete, the higher the rebate.
Rebates are awarded annually, after successful validation of your completed topics.
3. Maximum Rebate Cap
There is a cap on how much you can earn per action plan:
- You can earn up to 2 times your previous year’s reported WSIB premiums regardless of the number of topics completed.
4. Provider Fees vs. Rebates
The amount you pay to your program provider is often less than the rebate you may receive making the program a cost-effective investment in your business’s safety.

Minimum Rebate
The minimum a business can earn is $1,000 per topic or $5,000 if five topics are completed.
Maximum Rebate
The maximum a business can earn is $50,000 per topic or $250,000 if five topics are completed.
